Introduction to Bee Keeping

We will be running four one day (0900-1600hrs) Introduction to Beekeeping Courses for only FOUR people on each course are being run though the Early Summer of 2013.

These courses, conducted in the bee friendly Hidden Norfolk garden will consist of 4 sessions.
All protective gear will be provided - just bring wellies and sensible clothing!
Lunch included. 

Session 1 Fundamentals of beekeeping

Recognising bees in the UK, looking at how a honey bee colony is made up, various types of hives, clothing and equipment.

Session 2 Practical session

Looking at a hive & what it can tell you. Safety and etiquette when opening up a hive.

Session 3 Practical Session

Opening up the hive under complete supervision

Session 4 Getting started & products from the hive

What you will need to get started, what you will gain from keeping bees including products from the hive. Tricks and tips for keeping bees. Gardening for bee.
